The Bellow & The Whale

The Bellow & The Whale is the artistic collaboration of musicians/visual artists Bianca Goyette and Julia Lee Norris. Their sound draws on various genres and styles but is heavily rooted in soul and folk music traditions and is accented with a modern-day indie-pop feel. Together, they use overlapping thematic elements, imagery, and sound to erode the distance between the way we choose to see the world versus what is actually there.

"We create to bring people together, and to facilitate positive and constructive conversation between humans."

They experiment with harmony and vocal timbre, pulling in a range of emotion, from joyful and powerful to mournful and haunting. Born in Chicago (the partnership, not the individuals), the duo has released 6 studio singles, 2 EPs, 1 short film, 3 official music videos, and multiple visual collaborations with artists worldwide. They are currently working on a full-length album and a solo gallery show for Revolt Gallery in Taos, NM. You can follow along with their adventures on Instagram.

Meet Bianca

I like to refer to Bianca as a master creator. She has the unique ability to excel in many arts. From her painting, graphic design, creative direction, writing, and beautiful voice … there is little that Bianca can not do.

Bianca is a performer, visual artist, and creative director specializing in the fabrication of dynamic experiences that shift the way we interact with the world. She puts a concerted focus on initiatives that cross-pollinate digital and analog mediums that bring human interaction to the forefront.
